Parents got visa at Chennai Consulate: 2nd attempt

They were denied visa on the first attempt based on 214b on March 17 2008. It was due to an inappropriate family picture.

We again tried on April 8 2008, even after many people advised to try after atleast 6 months.

They were granted visa this time. Waiting for the passports.

what do you mean by incomplete family picture, are they asking the family photos, why i am asking is my grand parents are going for the tourist visa and he has 2 sons and 2 daughters.

do we need to show the family photos along with us ? is this required ?

It is not mandatory to show family pictures, but helps.

During their first round, my parents were almost granted the visa, then when the visa officer came across this family picture where my single photo was added to the one with my parents, grand parents (who stay with my parents) and by brother, the VO said this was **** and declined. We did not have any casual group photos, which is why we edited. Unfortunately they were denied.

But during the second time, my parents took with them whatever pictures they had, also took my wedding pictures, just to prove everything was genuine. The VO looked at the pics for a long time and then granted visa, no other documents were asked for.
