  • visitor visa for Nephew

I am a green card holder and planning to apply visitor visa for my Nephew (15 years old) who completed 10th grade. Please advise ASAP.

Will this become an issue in future when he goes to F1/H1 visa?

He is only 15 and he already is thinking about an F1/H1 visa?

First, you are not applying for his visa... he must apply for it, and qualify for it on his own... pretty much on his parent's ties to his country.

A lot will depend on his parents' income, financial status in India.
Because that will make sure he will return. If they have good income , they should show financing of his trip and not you. You should only send an invitation letter.

Future H-1s are not affected because they do not require non-immigrant intent. F-1s require non-immigrant intent and any info he provides now, will be stored in their computers and may affect future F-1s. If his current application is not that strong, I suggest he should avoid applying for a visitor visa and his family should concentrate on improving their financial background for
      a future F-1.
