Please tell me whether it is necessary to send my original marriage certificate to my parents who are soon appearing intheir visa appointment. Can i send a photocopy instead, i want to retain the original with myself? thanks

No need. Your marriage certif. is irrelevant for your parents' visitor visa.

Copies are accepted for visitor visa. No one will ask for it in general.
