  • Parents Visa rejected_Now sponsoring Inlaws - Please Help

I am on H1 and I sponsored my parents for visit visa last October and were refused a visa. They were given a 214 (b). They were asked 3 or 4 questions, and was told 'we doubt you might not return to home country' and were given back their passports over the counter [I assume it is because they have mentioned only 1 lakh as their annual income].

My wife is on H4 and I am now sponsoring my In-laws. My Father-In-Law retired last year, they are financially sound and I wanted them to visit USA. They have their interview scheduled for May 1st week. My wife has a married brother, He and his wife are also on H1. My concern here is..

    1. On Form 156, do I need to mention that both their Son & daughter [My wife] are in U.S, and say their status as H1 & H4 respectively ?

    2. If I say both are here, what do they have to say if asked.. why your Son didn't sponsor and why is your Son-In-Law sponsoring you ?

    3. On Form I-134 [Affidavit of support], do I need to mention my parents names under 'Previously submitted affidavits' or can I ignore this column as their visas were refused, and they do not have my affidavit on their records.

    4. Is there any way they would know my wife has a brother staying in US, as well as about my earlier submitted affidavits [I am worried, if i mention either; there chances of getting a visa will be reduced].

I have already filled their 156 stating only their daughter is in US, if I need to change how can I do that online, and is it necessary.

Any advices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

You Must Answer Each Question With The Truth. Lying Is Not Going To Help Them Get A Visa At All. If The Question Asks About Other People In The Usa, Why Do You Think It Is Ok Not To Mention Them?

Don't provide false information or hide anything. A sponsor in the U.S. is just one the many factors and it's not the only thing that affects the outcome. Whereas, hiding information could have very bad consequences.

Honesty is the best policy !!!

As others mentioned in this thread, answer all questions truthfully. Think of it this way.

If you provide false or misleading info, it might not only affect their visitor visa application now, but it also puts any of future your applications with USCIS (GC, Citizenship etc) at risk.

        Good Luck!
