I am traveling to US with my wife, in 2nd week of May’08, against 10 years’ tourist visa granted to us in November’06. This is our second visit. I observed, after booking our tickets that my wife’s Passport is valid up to October’08 only (less than 6 months, on the day of departure), while we shall be returning to India in early September’08, for which we hold confirmed tickets.
Is it in order that Passport validity is less than 6 months but we have a valid visa and we shall be returning before the passport expires. I want to assure myself that this shall not create any problems at Indian / US immigration counters. Considering the procedure at Passport Office, I am afraid that renewal / fresh issuance of Passport may be delayed especially if Police verification is involved in the process.
