  • Invitation letter at port of entry

    Hi,

My parents are visiting me next month for the first time. I would like to know if they would need to carry the invitation letter which I had sent to them during their Visa interview? Is there a possibility that the immigration officer would ask for it at the airport?

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Usually ...

... no, the invitation letter is not required at POE. However, what's the harm in carrying it with them? It's just one or two pages, won't hurt, right?

At least it will have all your contact information and the clarification if required.

    Good luck.

An invitation letter is not required at POE but doesn't hurt to carry one. If the logistics are an issue, a printout of a simple email invite would do as well.

I've not heard of invite letter being inspected from my friends' or my parents as visitors so far.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I will ask them to carry the invitation letter with them.

        Thanks.
