Can we sponsor visitors visa with H1B transfer pending?

I have switched my job and should be getting the receipt number in a day or two. Can i sponsor my parents visa with my old (i-797) H1 petition and the new receipt.
Can there be some issues? In case i do it without the new i797, do i need to provide some additional documents?

Sure you can. You, if you want, can write a letter to the officer that you have changed employer and you are awaiting the I-797 approval notice for the new employer. Chances are they won't even ask for the I-797.
