there are NO IFs... you put your marital status, no lies.

That is what has to be mentioned anyway and people that discussed it in the other thread would have mentioned it.

Lying on visa application, if caught, will result in a permanent ban.

My mom appeard twice as widow

            Hi,
My mom appeard at Chennai Visa consulate twice as widow and rejected twice, both of them were in English and this time she is going again with Telugu appointment.

First time she was rejected with no reason (just because she is widow may be) but next time they asked for my Brother's ration Card in India as a proof that he is living in India and we are not aware of it that time. They told the reason for rejection second time that they don't think she is going to go back to India. (which is stupid as my mom doesn't like to come to US at all and begging her to come here) anyways, hope she gets visa this time.

Please post the documents that you are submitting from here and in India also, so that we can review each other's list and make sure we don't miss anything atleast this time.

Here are the documents we are sending from here:
            • Affidavit of Support
            • Employment Verification Letter
            • Pay-Slips
            • Bank Account Verification Letter and Bank Statements
            • Tax Documents (including tax returns filed for 2006)
            • Copy of my Passport with I-94
            • Copy of my Permanent Resident Card

I have to find out with my brother about their documents, will post it after then.

            Thanks

Visitor visa rejected twice, Pls. Help

Thanks for all the information. My aunt is in similar situation. She is a widow and does not have any kids. She has a dependent sister.

I applied for her visa twice and it got rejected both times because of lack of ties in India . Is there anything in specific thats necessary to show family ties? It would be great if you could provide some pointers as to what can go into the letter to American consulate. Also, please let me know how long should I give before I book the next interview. Her first attempt was in Sep, 2007 and second was in may 1, 2008.

              Thanks a lot!
