Regarding B2 Visa invitation and Sponsor

Hi,

I had a query regarding B2 Tourist Visa.

- I am planning to invite my parents for a short visit to the USA under the B2 Visa.
- I have come to the US on a H1B visa. However my H1B Visa, Petition as well as I94 were all valid only till March last week.
- My company has already filed for my H1B visa extension in March first week. I have got the receipt notice, but I am yet to get the approval notice.
- I understand from my company that once my visa extension application is filed at the US consulate, I am legally allowed to stay in the US for 240 days.
- My query is that under these circumstances -

o Can I invite my parents on a B2 Visa to the US?

o Can I sponsor their visa?

o If I invite them and sponsor them, then since my extension is yet to be approved, will it have any adverse impact on their getting the B2 tourist visa or on the validity of the visa that they get?

Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated

1. Yes, you can invite them.
2. Yes, you can sponsor their visit.
3. That should not be any problem. Just send the copy of your H1 extension receipt notice.
