  • Applying for Canadian Visa

    Hello,

My mother who is currently staying in New Jersey, her I-94 visa has been submitted for extention 4 weeks before the visa expiry and its under process. I would like to know whether she can apply now for canadian visiting visa before getting her new I-94. Kindly advise

    Thanks

Canada may not issue the visa as her I-94 has expired. If the visa is for the purpose of getting a new I-94, that may not work as well.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Are they issuing new I-94 while returning back from Canada or Mexico..?
I am looking forward to apply for extention for my parent's B2 and trying to weigh the option of visiting Canada/Mexico and get a I-94 extention.

Please advise which will be the best method.

Their current visa is valid for another 9 weeks

      thanks

If your trip to canada/mexico is less than 30 days, no new I-94 will be issued, and you will be allowed into the US provided your I-94 is still valid.

If you stay in canada/mexico for more than 30 days, a new I-94 may be given, but a reentry can be denied too if the officer suspects you are using this route to get another 6 months stay in US.
