  • didn't get visa but passport doesn't have refusal stamp

My father did not get visitore visa, but they did not put refusal stamp on his passport either ! what does that mean?
the interviewer did not even look at the papers asked two questions
    1) who is in usa (my daughter)
    2) what does she do (she is a student and graduating)
and the interviewer said "sorry u can not get the visa"

my husband has a job and he was the one who sponsored my father but we both wrote a invitation to my father and a letter to consulate.
my father is retired and now is a farmer with his own lands and property and has his family(mother wife son grandson and so on) to go back to in india.
we thought we were very thorough with the paperwork.
should we apply again right away? or do we need to wait?
    any suggestions plz

It is suggested that you wait. He should have told daughter and son-in-law are in US. The VO may have thought that you will not be able to bear his costs.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

your response is highly appreciated. how long should one wait to reapply?
my job starts in june, so would a job letter help? and next time should i be the sponsor instead of my husband (after i have my job) ? is there any other document i should include, does the sequence of documents matter?
we had all the documents mentioned on this site.

another thing is if my father self sponsors, does he still needs an invitation from us? which we don't mind sending but just want to make sure whats the right thing to do in that case !

6 months wait is the least one should wait unless something has changed in terms of tie to the home country. The documents remain the same. If you look at visitor visa success stories, you will realize that many times, these supporting documents are just a "good to have" thing but not necessary. VOs make their decision based on responses to question, the applicants demeanor among other things.
