  • Tourist visa now student visa later for sister?

    Hi,

I am planning to invite my sister to the US along with my mother.
My sister is single and will be completing her engineering in July.
But she plans to do her MS in US, so will be applying for a student visa in Dec/jan 08.

    1) By any chance, if her tourist visa gets rejected, will it have any impact on her student visa chances later?
    2) Is the application process for my sister similar to that of my parents or do I need to have some other documentation.

    Thanks,
    Shanks

    1. Tourist visas are rejected for immigrant intent many times. If so, it will impact F1 visa as well. Better not apply for tourist visa.

I also have to mention it also works in her favor if she gets the B1/B2 visa and returns back on time from the US for her F1.

Likelihood of approval of a tourist visa for her age is less .

    2. Same
