Hi Friends

I am inviting my parents to visit US, took appointment on May 29th at Chennai. My question is it mandatory that they should carry my original birth Certificate? Actually I don't have my birth certificate. Till now I am using my SSC certificate which shows my birth day. Will this work or not?

Birth certificates etc are documents that I personally believe became a part of the "list" as a result of some people overdoing their documentation.

VOs have never asked for these from the personal experience of me or my friends' parents so far in successful visa cases. I have not read on any of the forums that I frequent about a VO asking for the birth certificate. Point me to one if you come across one.
