Hey all,
After an initial rejection in apr 2008 ,we applied this month(within a month!!),and got visa sucessfully!
Things we thought ,hopeless to get visa:
1.she is a widow, with no property in her name
2.She doesnt have job and enough financial ties, except pension.
3.she went for second interview,in less than a month.
pros:
1.she had 2 sons,grandchildren back in india.
2.she was confident enough to face a "long" interview, after a rejection last month.
But one thing that we believe that was effective, was a COVER LETTER,from my mother-in-law(translated in english)stating all the ties, and LETTER to CONSULATE from us,stating all the ties and assuring she would return back, and family photos attached to it.
Some swear these letter dont make a difference, but it worked for many and worked for me.Just be sure the person is confident enough to convince consulate, when asked questions,we had lot of mock interviews with her,and explained the fact, that how important it is to convince consulate in those few minutes.
SO for all out there, wondering if they can get visa, inspite of all the complextiy of their case, just send a well stated letter, and imparting lot of confidence to the person attending-sure success is on the way!!!!
Thanks for all the guidance
Sudha.
