  • Initial 6 month travel on B2 visa

My in-laws recieved a B2 tourist visa some days back. The visa has a 10 year validity. They will not be traveling to USA in the immediate 6 months.
I am being told that if you dont travel to USA in 6 months from the time the visa is issued then the visa gets cancelled even though it has a 10 year validity with multiple entries.

Does anyone have any idea about this?

You are being told WRONG things. A visa is valid till the date shown on the visa and it can be used any time while it is valid. You can enter today with a visa expiring tomorrow.

It is immigrant visas that have that requirement. Like the other member here said. You can use a visa for as long as it is valid.
