  • Reapplying for parents

I did not do my research before applying for my parents. In DS-156, I wrote that the reason why my parents are visiting us is that I am pregnant and they will be here for my delivery. On this basis, my parents visa got rejected. I know this was completely my fault. I want to reapply for them. should I wait for some time or apply within a month? This time, what should I write as their purpose of visit? are there any documents that I can provide which will help change the officers mind? thanks in advance......

Documents dont help, but circumstances pointing to non-immigrant intent do. Earlier your parents were viewed as a potential job-snatcher from a nanny in US and thus rejected. I am sorry to say that you have damaged your case for your parents visa to an extent. They advise to re-apply only if a major change in the circumstances has happened, if not wait out 6 months. If you are desperate to have them visit you for your delivery, then you can try later if you are now at an initial stage. Otherwise too, you can try but they put in responses from your application in their system and can "see through" it whatever they say during interview. Good luck.

By the way, is HAHK your fav movie

The next time your parents go; the officer will look at the computer and ask them, has your daughter delivered? How long back?

So,it is better to apply after you have delivered and even then the officer may think your mom is going to look after the baby, so your parents should say we are going to see the newborn and return in 4 weeks because we
have a lot going on in India.
