Driver's licenses in US

Currently, Five states viz.

Maryland, Hawaii, New Mexico, Utah and Maine

DO NOT REQUIRE a legal US status to issue a driver's license.

They require a social security number, which does require in most cases a legal status in the USA. But I do not understand the point of this post, are we condoning people illegally present or out of status to obtain a drivers' license?

in most cases, they do not obtain car insurance and in a wreck it will make you unhappy to meet one of them.
