Information On Visitor Visa

Hi,

I have a work permit to work in the USA. Currently I am placed at Raleigh, NC. I have invited my parents to visit me at USA for a month or so. The visitor's visa which they had applied last year during my stay in Miami is valid till 8th Of July 2008.


I have few questions:

1. If the VISA expires on 8th July 2008 what does that mean...
a) They can enter USA any date before 8th July 2008 OR
b) They have to leave USA before 8th July 2008.


2. Do they have to go for stamping again if the last year's VISA is still valid till 8th July 2008.

Please let me know asap as I will plan for their travel before 8th July accordingly.

As long as you are in legal status when they apply for visitors visa, that is all that matters.

They can enter any time before their visa stamp expires (may be 10 years too) and they can stay up to date stamped in I-94.

My next question would be, is there any specific period for which they generally allow to stay in case of Visitor Visa?

It is up to the officer at port of entry. Generally, people get 6 months.
