In-laws last name incorrect in wife's passport

Hello freinds,

I am planning to sponsor my in-laws visitor visa. The problem is their last name is misspelled in my wife's passport. For example, instead of abccde it is spelled as abcffg. But in my in-laws passports their last name is correct as per their records. Also, my wife's birth certificate is not available. My father- in-law is a govt. employee and he is still in service.

Could anyone please suggest what can be done to correct this situation so that it can help to get visitor visa for my in laws?

Doesn't Matter

As long as their passports have the name spelt correctly- it does not matter so much that your wife's PP has it wrong.

Wife's birth certificate is not required and the higher secondary certificate can suffice in lieu of it if she has that.
