  • Question about Canadian Visa from USA

Hello Members, My mother in law is here in USA visiting on a 10-yr visa and she got 6 months entry of which one month is passed. We would like to take her to Canada (Niagara Falls, Canadian side) just for a couple of hours.
Has any member tried to get a Visitors' visa for Canada being here?
Any suggestions, before we go ahead and apply, what paper could we show, since she has only her airline ticket to go back to India and passport.

    Thanks in advance.

Apply at the Buffallo consulate in person, just a day before the Niagara visit and many people get it without any problems.

      Reply Question from Member-txh1b

Hello Thanks for the reply, but I you live in DC and apply there, would it ok too? What if WE apply in Buffalo, and they say that we should have applied in our own state?
      Thanks

You can apply at any location. My friend from California applied in Buffalo during his recent visit with his parents. I suggested Buffallo cos the VO knows that you came to see Niagara and all you intend to do is visit the Canada side rather than settling down etc.

Thank you so much for the reply, but could you ask your friend or may be you would know it whether, what paper do we need to carry?

          Thanks

He just applied with the usual documents like his status docs, paystubs etc. If you apply as a family, the fees may work out better. Make the person that has a blood relation the primary in such case.

The document list is mentioned on the candaian embassy website clearly.
