B2 visa for fiancee

I am planning for a short trip for my fiancee (yet to be legally married, but engaged) to the US. I am currently on H1 B visa, and she is working for a software company back in India.
Now she will be trying for her L1 between now and december depending on her company policy and procedures. what exactly are the pros and cons for applying for an B2 (tourist visa during this time).
