hi, i am in us on a visitor visa to take my usmle step2 csa..in chennai consulate,the VO gave me visa for 3 months single entry..but at the port of entry the officer stamped in my I94 as 6 months..does this mean that i can legally stay here for 6 months? i wanted to go back by july i.e,after staying here for 2 months.. my q is i am going to apply again for visitor visa in november for my step 3..will i get any problem for visa at that time? bec. i got my visa in third attempt.i mentioned in my ds156 that i wanted only one week of stay but i stayed for 8 weeks..will this afect my further visitor visa interview?

Legally, you can stay upto 6 months based on your I-94. But for future prospects, it is better if you can leave after you are done with your business so that you establish that you are not going to stay here which is needed for B1/B2 visitors.
Keep copies of your I-94 and departure boadring pass for future visa needs.
