  • Tourist visa: Address on I-134 different from current address

    Hello,

I currently live in US and I had visited India in April. I had given my parents all the sponsor documents to apply for visa interview and they now have the interview scheduled for July. But in the past month, they have changed their residence from the address mentioned in the sponsor's documents. Does this mean that I have to send a new set of documents with the current address or is an explanation of change of address good enough?

Also, are they actually required to take my original birth certificate?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

    Regards,
    Dilip

All these are just supporting documents and in many successful cases, none of these documents are even looked at by the VOs in most cases.

The address on I-134 is not a big deal. If you wish, send them a new copy. Same thing with the birth certificate as well. The consulate asks for an original one. But a copy will work fine too if they ask for it.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
