  • Question regarding quick successive visits to US

    Hi,

My sister has a 10-year multiple entry visa. She is currently on a visit here and can stay here for 6 months. My question is, can she come back for a visit to US again within one month of going back? Will it cause any problems at point of entry? Will they cancel her 10-yr visa?

    Any help is appreciated!

Not a good idea at all. They will most likely send her back from the airport if she encounters a very strict officer.

I was at the airport last weekend to pick up someone. They were saying that there was a parent that did the same and the CBP officer was going to give I-94 for just 1 day, that too as they were with a USC grandchild that they had to drop off..

Visitor visa is for visits to US, not for staying. You are risking the visa as well.

I was thinking they would have sent them back from the airport if they did not have the grand child with a US passport. They also had their paperwork in checked baggage unfortunately.

Questions asked were why they were here so soon and on what purpose. Don't know what happened later as the party I was waiting for came out.

On a side note, if only people realized the consequences and explained things better to elderly parents as to how to handle travel.
It surprises me that elderly people try to check two heavy bags each (I'm sure they are bringing stuff for the people here in US) and a full capacity carry on item. Wish people living in US told them to travel light as the security checks in stopver airports are a pain! I've helped many elderly people with no clue on how to handle travel and a language barrier at these international airports as they cannot haul the carry on items through the terminals.

These carry on items were twice heavier than mine and left me with a short breath! Go figure out how they thought they could travel with these.
