separate visa fee and docs?

all,

am trying to invite my parents to US on visit(mid oct) visa.both my parents will attend the interview in local language only.my questions are:

do they need to pay separate visa issuance fee @ HDFC bank to book for the visa slot?
my husband is the sponser, so does he need to send two sets of paper work separately?(bank stmts,I-134 etc ??)
how early do we need to check for dates for the appointment at chennai consulate? say we are planning to book around sept 15th-Oct 1st.

I am surprised to see these basic questions from you.

Visa fee has to be paid per person. It is your call to send 1 or two sets. Start looking early-mid August for appointments.

tension starts when we are in that position(applying,waiting for outcome of stamping for parents after couple of yrs time)...hence the post.
