Transit visa for travel through UK

Hi,

Our parents have tourist visa (visitor visa from India to travel to USA). We have booked their tickets through British Airways from India to USA with a transit at London for few hours for change of flight from UK to USA. Would they require a UK visa for the transit period or would the US visa alone be sufficient? Please suggest.

Transit visa is not needed. If it'll be needed, it'll be given to you when you leave from your flight and will be collected when you board your connecting flight.

Transit visa is required if the passengers want to go out of the airport.

If they are going to stay inside the same airport till they get the connecting flight, then they dont required to have a transit visa.
