Sponsor visitor visa for Parents while H1 renewal Pending

I would like to sponsor my parents a visitor visa, but my 7th year H1 extension is in pending state, i have no idea how long it will take. According to the current processing time, it might take another 4 months. Meanwhile can i use the H1 receipt notice to apply a visa for them??

Please advise me.

... have a current valid H1B visa, right? Otherwise you cannot even stay in the country.

So, since you have a valid visa you can easily sponsor your parents.

Thanks for your reply, my visa in the passport has been expired

I have a question for you

1. Why cant i stay in the country ? even after applying for an h1 extension
FYI: I have EAD and AP, my 485 is in pending state too

the only thing i am trying to find out is, can i sponsor my parents while my H1 extension is in Progress

... it's partly my mistake.

However you can use either H1B or EAD, not both at the same time.

that's why i said clarification,In any case i did not mention that my current H1is expired and my renewal is in progress, that's why i am kinda worried.

So, guys would it be okay to just send them along with rest of documents and Just the receipt of H1 extension and the previous expired H1??
