My parents will be appearing for Visitor Visa interview in Delhi soon. My dad is Govt employee while mom is housewife. Do you think it will be ok if I make an english language appointment for them? My dad can understand Indian style english but I am afraid if they will be able to catch US english accent. Is it better to make hindi appointment for a safer side/ Is interview any harder in hindi?...any experiences?.....please help. thanks in advance

Originally posted by ramabalajiGetting Hindi language appointment is difficult. The Vos speak slowly because they know that Indians have difficulty in understanding their accent. It is better if you get english appointment since your father is a govt servant and can understand english.

Do not worry. VOs in Delhi can speak Hindi also. If question is addressed to your mother, your father can say she does not understand English. Then VO will ask her in Hindi or your father can translate into Hindi for your mother to answer. What the VO sees in granting a visitor visa is that you people have ties in India and will come back after your visit to USA. So, please prepare them with all the documents mentioned in immihelp and carry out mock interview.
