I have seen "tax returns" as part of the documents listed for sponsor(for visitor visa for parents).what exactly are those forms??All I have from last three years is the W2 forms and copies of 1040s which I filed. I opted for direct deposit of refund in all three years and so,there is no proof of tax return filing. Does the IRS mail a document to confirm that one has filed his/her tax returns? If so, I never got one!Would the W2 forms and 1040s copies be sufficient for my parents' visitor visa interview?

In most cases no. Good to have though as you never know what the VO will ask for in those 2-4 min interview.Originally posted by srinivasguduruis 1040 really needed for visa interview??
