My parents will be appearing for visitor visa interview in last week of august. My dad works in a bank and is scheduled to retire in October. He has got the leave for only one month (September) although my mom being a housewife can stay longer. If the leave letter of my dad says one month, what should I put the duration of stay in DS 156 form?(can I put 3-4 months as my mom can stay that much?)If the duartion of stay is only one month, are there more chances that visa may be issued for a shorter duration (<10 years)? Is there any risk (of rejection)if my parents go for visa interview in last week of august with intended plan to fly in September 2nd week?please answer the queries..thanks

If he is going to retire in Oct, he does not need any leave letter for that time onwards.
Just write the duration in DS_156 for whaterver duration he is actually planning to stay.Immihelp Support

thanks for ur answer. My dad is scheduled to retire in october last week and he has applied for leave only for the month of september. My question was that can I put different duration of stay for my mom (4 months) if she is planning to stay that much?or is it better to have one same duration of stay for both of them?
