  • Grand Parents bringing US Citizen kid to US

My In laws are bringing my kid (US Citizen) to US from India. Will there be any issues at the Immigration. Please share any experience at the US airport.

Any documents required to be brought by In Laws.

    Regards,
    Dasa

Couple of weeks back, I was at the airport and heard this story about a couple being held at POE when they returned back to US too early after their previous visit with a grandkid. The POE office noticed that they were returning too soon from their past visit and was giving a hard time and was wanting to issue a I-94 for 1 day to drop off the kid.

Don't know what happened later as they were still being held when my party came out.

So the question is when was their last visit?

And they also should carry authorization letter from both parents if the child is a US citizen.

Thanks for the quick reply guys.

Grandparents are coming back after 4 yrs, but the kid is coming back after 3 yrs.

Is Immigration officials expect any other documents other than Authorization letter?

US Passport = No questions for the kid
No past overstay or No recent visits to US = No questions for parents
