stay in US as visitors visa

hello everybody, my parents were granted for 10 yrs multiple visa, my question is, is it ok that they will stay for 3 months instead of 1 month that they answered on DS form? will the custom or boarder officer in port of entry is strict in this matter? thank you.

They can remain for the duration given on the I-94 they receive on entry.

If you had intended for them to remain 3 months at the time you filled out the DS156, you should have put that length of time on the form.

Since this is their first visit to USA, at port of entry (POE) the immigration Officer (IO) will ask them about the purpose of visit, with whom they will be staying and duration of stay etc. Based on their answers, the IO will enter a date in the I94 form which will indicate the date on which they should leave USA. If I were you, even if IO has given a stay of full 6 months, my parents will leave in 4 or 5 months so that when they come next, they will not have any problem at POE.
