B1/b2 or J1

Hi,

I was working in a Summer Camp with a J1 visa which expires in a few days - i then have a B1/B2 visa for a further 6 months - do i need to activate this visa- and if so is there a way of doing it without leaving the US?

Even though you may have multiple visa stamps, you only have one visa status in the US at a time.

If you have J1 status, you have to change to B1/B2 status by filing Form I-539. /show-form/i-539
