Hi Friends,

While preparing the documentation for my parents for a visitor visa I had clicked on a link from another site (***) and it took me directly to http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/us-visa-and-immigration-forms/forms_1342.html . I thought I need to fill it up online and send it to my parents.

Later on I came to know that it should be done in the VFS site http://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ all in one shot with the DD numbers taken from HDFC. This would lead me to fixing an appointment and also filling the DS 156 forms

My queries are as below:

1) Can I forego those earlier ones and fill the forms in this site?

2) Is it going to create any problems when my parents go for visa with the forms filled through VFS site.

3) Do you advise my parents to carry those DS 156 forms also for the interview? (Filled up earlier at travel.state.gov). Since they generate the barcodes each time you fill up a DS 156 form, I am scared if it would cause any confusion at Chennai consulate.

I did a trial run on the VFS site and observed that it is actually going to the same site (travel.stae.gov) while filling up the online form for DS 156 in VFS site.

Please advise at the earliest.
