Need some clarifications

Hi All,
My mother visited us last October and stayed for the full 6 months till this March. Now we would like her to visit us again this year ( come in middle of December) and leave by end of January. Will this be a problem at the port of entry. I think she is not breaking any six months rule here but just wanted to confirm before blocking her ticket.
I know that an individual can stay in the US for 6 months in a year. Can anyone tell me if that is a calendar year. Which means that someone can come in June and leave in December of that year. And then immdeiately come in January and stay for another six months.

Not calendar year but rolling 12 month period

Make the time between visits at least as long as the visit. She may not come July-Dec and then try to come Feb thru July.

She should be fine especially since she wants a short visit this Dec.
