  • URGENT: I-94 not turned in upon departure

My mom and dad were not asked to turn in their I-94s when they left US, and now my mom is visiting again. She still posseses her I-94 from her last visit. What are the consequences? What options does she have? Her flight is in 2 hours and we just noticed this, please help urgently.

They need to bring proof that they departed the USA before their last I-94 expired... so find the boarding passes or check if they have entry stamps on their passports.

It is their responsibility to make sure all documents like I-94 are processed correctly. Always remind them to retain their travel documents in case there is a problem.

Worst case, they would not be allowed to enter US if the CBP person is strict.

Follow this procedure to correct the record.
