Is it possible to become legal again after I-94 has expired?

My friend has a multiple entry R visa B1/B2 expiring in 2012. However, her I-94 has been granted for 6 months and has expired last march. Is there a way for her to regain legal status in the US? I want to help her so much... Thank you!

Not to another non-immigrant status. No.

Only way is to marry an USC for the right reasons, file for a Green Card (and not leave the country until it was approved) and then the overstay period would be forgiven.
