  • Who should sponsor my brother or I?

    Hi
My husband and I have been in US since 7 yrs.Now we are in I485/adj status.came to US in H1/H4.later i got H1. I work on and off .Now i am working. My brother and his family came to US on H1, 1 and 1/2 yrs back.

Now i am not sure who should sponsor parents's visa.which option is better. we are not sure if irrespective of who sponsors ,do we have to send both of our documents to India, for them to apply for Visitor visa.
if my brother does it, will I send my documents too..how does that work when multiple siblings are in USA.

    please advise.
Thanks a million for maintaining this awesome website.

Most common misconception is visitors need a sponsor. NO, they don't. They qualify on their own.

Sponsorship documents that one sends are just to ensure that they have additional proof for justifying their visit and that they will not become a public charge.

Does not matter who sends in your case.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

      but....

Actually for my Father in Law (his 3 sons are here) 's visitor VISA got rejected once b'cos one of his son's h1 document was not upto date.

so from that incident i thought if parents would need documents from all kids.

      please reply.
