I'd like to inquire about obtaining a B2 visa.
Myself and my fiancee are Australian Citizens from Canberra and we are currently doing a work/travel holiday around the world.
My fiancee has been offered an I-visa to work as a freelance cameraman in the the United States, he wants to work in the US for 6-12 months. I would like to know if I would be eligible for a B2 visa so I could travel around the US for that 6-12 month period?
I have sufficient funds in my bank account and in my fiancee's bank account to support me during my time in the US. My fiancee will be employed and will be able to support me if necessary.
We have just spent 6 months working in Qatar and are planning to go to London after our stint in the US as we are both EU passport holders as well. After this time we plan to return to Canberra, Australia as both of our families are there and my fiancee owns a house that we plan to live in.
My main questions are:
Is the B2 visa the most appropriate visa for me and can I get a B2 visa for 6-12 months?
Can I exit and re-enter on the B2 visa as we will be doing travel outside of the US during this period also?
Do I need letters of invitation from friends in the States if I am planning on travelling with my fiancee who will be on the I visa and is not yet in the US?
