I hope someone can help
Im in a real mess
I came to the USA on a visitors visa B2 from Australia in June.. its due to run out on December 3rd.. I dont want to return to Australia
I was going to extend the visa but due to a family member who created havoc by not forwarding replacement bank cards.. i was without funds of anykind for a 3 week period.. all while the Aussie dollar took a tumble down the gurlger.. I lost $1000 in that alone.. She was also due to repay a substantial loan but now is refusing.. I have no way of recovering that money.
I cant afford to support myself for the extra 6 months
I am here with my partner of nearly 6 years who is a US Citizen.
He is on disability with some pretty hefty medical issues.. there is no one to look after him.. and he would refuse any home help.. He allows me to care for him
At this point He is still able to care for himself but still needs monitoring with his medication.. Hes on pain killers and frequently forgets when hes taken them.. im very scared he will o/dose without supervision of some kind....his health has improved dramatically since ive been here.. but i know thats going to deteriorate as soon as i leave.
What im wanting to do is work..
But I cant get a work visa because im on a b2 and i would need someone to sponsor me in
I have offers of employment working on 2nd shift as a PCA close by.. so if my partner needed me.. i could be back here in a heartbeat.
But they require proper authority to work
I even tried applying for a nursing scholarship with the ability to work while studying and the hospital is very interested.. but not able thelp unless im a US Citizen
Im not looking at becoming a Citizen at this point.
Perhaps further down the track
Although we are committed to one another.. marriage isnt somehting thats on the cards at this point.
and I dont want to have to get married to remain.. if that makes sense
Ive been trying everywhere to get some sort of answer but not getting any responses
The redtape is mind boggling and very confusing
I would just like to be able to work.. be legal.. pay taxes.. pay health insurance... and spend what is probably the last 10 years of His life together.
He has advanced CopD and been on disability for about 5 years having been diagnosed back in 98.
At this point the only solutions i can see are this
Return to Australia.. work 2-3 jobs for 3-4 months and then return as i have a long term 6 month visa valid until 2013.. and extend. after 6 months
Become the only spanish speaking australian alien working on a grape farm somewhere (joking.... i think)
Or find someway of doing it legally..
Any suggestions
Time is running out and i will need to book a return ticket in the next two weeks at the latest.
Im desperate.. and heartbroken.. does anyone have any thoughts
i would very much appreciate any ideas
