I am a united states citizens and I went to Sri Lanka to married my fiance'. I have filed I-130 petition for him to join me in the USA. Since the marriage took place in Sri Lanka, which one of us will be interview by the embassy? How long will it take for him to join me in USA? Can he join me immediately and than wait for the approval process of the I-130? I was told by a customer service at USCIS that I can called the embassy in Sri Lanka to see if they have received a copy of the I-130 petition. Is that correct?
