I need some help on where to start with getting papers started for my husbands work permit/ residency. We went to see a lawyer to get the process started and they need proof of entry from my husband. The problem is that he washed his passport and cannot see the stamps in the book. He is from Uruguay and my husband said that he did not need a Visa to come to the US? He got here December 19, 2001. I was thinking and other people have told me that he must have had one. I am completely confused in where I should start my search. US immigration, Uruguayan consulate, Airport? Can you please help with any ideas?
