  • Is it Too Soon to Go Back?

    Hi,

I was on a J-1 visa from October 2006 to April 2008. During my time as a J-1 intern I visited my home country several times. I left in April at the end of my programme and went home. I returned on my B-2 visa two weeks later and was given 6months to stay in the us. I stayed for just under 5 months. During my J-1 internship my hand was broken and so i am involved in a workmen's comp case. I have been feeling a lot more pain in my hand since i came back and have been advised to see an ortho, however there are no orthos here that accept workmen's comp it would actually be cheaper to go back to florida and see my regular ortho who i have been seeing for over a year, and proceed from there. i may also need to see a lawyer regarding my case.

I want to go back in december with my daughters, the younger of which is an american citizen born in the us 6 years ago but lives in my home country, and the older is a citizen of my home country, so they can spend their christmas vacation there and so that i can see my doctor and possibly a lawyer. I really need to know if it is a bad idea to go back so soon even though i have a valid reason. i am really scared that i will be denied entry.

    thank you.
