I had a 3 month B1/B2 visa and my I94 was expiring on SEPT 5th 2008. I applied for an B1/B2 extension to the USCIS and got a receipt of processing. But I exited the US on Sept 3rd 2008 and went back to my home country. I went to my home country, and got a fresh 10yr multiple entry visa and reentered US without any problems at the port of entry in November 2008, and now I have a fresh I94 which expires in Apr 2009.
Off recently while in the US i got another receipt from the USCIS saying they were processing my B1/B2 visa extension at another office. My questions:
1. Will the B1/B2 extension now pending automatically be void? or must I inform the USCIS and cancel the extension, now that I have a fresh b1/b2 visa? I have maintained legal status all throughout, so will this B1/B2 extension processing that's going on now have any subsequent effects of me entering and exiting the US in the future?
2. In case the B1/B2 application will go on then the following questions:
If the extension is approved and a new I94 comes by which is the date i must stick to for exiting the US..(the new extension approved i94 or the i94 i have now from my fresh entry to the US) ?
If the extension is not approved, i hope the i94 i have now from my fresh entry to the US is valid and i can stay till Apr2009 ?
3. I will be going back to my country to apply for an H1B or J1 visa before April 2009. So will this pending extension have any affect in the consulate at my country issuing me a new JI/HIB visa?
3. I have the boarding pass of my exit on the Sept 3rd 2008 from the US and all the documents that the USCIS send me. Is there is any unforeseen possibilities or visa issues I must be prepared to deal with in the future ?
