Sponsoring parent while h1b extenstion in progress

Hi,
My H1b visa and I-94 both are getting expired on 02 Feb 2009. My h1b extension is in progress and already 10 weeks has paased still no response. I am planning to sponsor my parents... can i still do that... my parents are planning to go for visa interview on 3rd week of Jan 2009. I still have chance that i will get approval before that, but what if, if still in progress and no decision is made till jan third week.

They can still attend the visa. You can just send them the copy of extension receipt.
