I-94 extension awaited but parents applied for B1

hi
My I 94 expires by jan 31st. I have already applied for an extension but have not received my new I94 yet. my parents have applied for a B1/B2 visa interview on jan 28th. would not having new I-94 be held against them in the visa interview?
