Short term tourist visa

Hi, Can u please guide me....

We r a family of 4, husband, 2 sons aged 10 and 4 and myself. We have scheduled our interview appointment next month to secure a Tourist Visa, but we intend to travel to the US only in April if ever we get our visa. I want to know what would happen if they issued us only 1month or 3 month visa? It would be not possible for me to travel before April.

Please tell me what I should do at this point of time. Do I need to postpone my interview at a later date to be on the safest side?

You can travel at any time before the expiration date of the visa.
