Need Help! I'm Confused :(

I have some questions,please advice.
1,i got multiple entry visa,i'm confused if my return ticket should really have a return date? i heard that you will only grant 1-3months on the port of entry? what if my return date is after 5 months?

2,what is the best reason if you ask why you're visiting u.s.?

3,is it okay if someone sponsor/filed you an H1-B visa while you're staying in the u.s.? do you need to go back in your home country?
