About address in passport

My inlaws moved from the address which is mentioned in the passport. I am planning to take an appt for them in Nov or Dec.

1.Is it ok if the address is different from what is mentioned in their passport?

2.If it needs to be changed, any idea what the procedure is to get it changed and how long its going to take for the process taken the way things go India?
