  • MIL Visitor Visa -- All sons out of India

    Hi

My In-laws have three sons -- all out of India. One in UK and two in USA. We are planning for Mom-in-law's visit to UK and USA shortly -- with transit stay in UK and main stay in USA (with one of the US sons and only visiting the other). I have a few questions regarding preparation for the Visitor Visa Consulate Interview and planning for the travel:

    1) Immihelp guide says, "If the parents have more than one child in the US, it is advisable to carry relevant documents of all children including the sponsor child"
    (a) What kind of "relevant documents" will be required of the US residing sons -- both the one with whom she will stay majorly and the one she will be only visiting?
    (b) Will she need to specify that she plans to visit UK son too during transit trip of 2-5 days duration?
    (c) Will she need to produce "relevant documents" for the UK son too?

    2) Father-In-law will not be accompanying MIL for the trip to UK/US. May join her for return trip - not yet decided.
(a)Will it suffice for her to state Husband as "strong ties for returning to India" and show landed property in joint ownership as additional proof?
(b)Also, she has already been to UK once and has the visa stamping in her passport to show as additional proof of return. Would this enhance her chances of being granted a US Visa?

    3) Since she will be travelling alone, could we request the airline to provide assistance (both with language and luggage) as she is not conversant with English? Or, should we try to go for wheelchair option to make the travel easier? (She is 59 and occassionally has knee problems which could be aggravated by the travel.)

    4) If planning for transit stay in UK, how would the ticket fares and booking be affected? Also, which airline would be best for her, considering points 3 & 4?

Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

    1. Relevant documents mean proof legal stay such as copy of greencard, h1 visa etc.
Do that for all children abroad.

    2.
    a) Quite subjective.
    b)Quite subjective.

    3. As so many people who don't know English have started asking wheelchair and abusing the system, several airlines now charge extra money for that and some also ask for doctor's certificate that says why she needs one.

    4. ?
